Our Story

Since opening in 2015 Cleaver & Co has established itself as the go to bar and restaurant for mouth-watering ribs that fall off the bone, succulent brisket, and lamb shanks; all cooked for up to 14 hours in our Southern Pride smoker all the way from Tennessee.

Settle into one of our comfy booth seats with the family, have an intimate table for two, or enjoy the game on a leaner with the lads and ladies. Smell the manuka wafting through the restaurant and get ready to experience southern food, and hospitality kiwi style.

BBQ is social, and approachable dining without pretence. It’s about gathering, celebrating, and feasting. With Cleaver & Co we are creating a culture built on the social eating experience that is synonymous with BBQ; staying true to techniques that have been crafted over many decades.

A plethora of sharing plates, jugs of beer, and a carefully selected list of wine contribute to the communal dining experience. The menu is a crowd-pleaser, featuring smoked, and grilled meats, a great burger selection, and quesadillas, alongside a range of salads and desserts.
